QualiDe - Sustainable takeout alternative

Animation, Service Design, Digital Arts, Collaboration

Motion graphics animation created in AfterEffects made for a sustainability project at Tsinghua University in association with Greenpeace. The brief asked us to design a solution for the take-out waste problem in China. I worked together with my classmate Chul Jun Sung who was responsible for the interface design.

Local restaurants are being negatively impacted by the widely popular food delivery systems available in China. The services are racking up in profits while the local businesses are given no choice but to succumb to the system if they want customers to even recognize their existence. The services are only working to be super convenient for the end user and themselves by forcing restaurants to excessively purchase and use single-use plastic containers which are critically damaging the environment. We wanted to see if there was a way to combine being sustainable while helping local businesses make a profitable come-back in the food delivery scene. From looking at millennials in China, it seemed that using quality, trends and convenience was the way to go forward.

QualiDe is a new food delivery service proposition that supports quality local restaurants to provide seasonal and trendy foods in an environmentally friendly way.
